 Hi Sally,
Today was the day when Dylan had to show what he can do on the field and mature from a young pup to an adult.
It wasn't easy for him but he did not disappoint.

He turned up full of life ready to take the Gundog Level 2 test, on a field where a bitch in season had just undergone a level 1 test!!

He entered, he went through each section, and he came out the other end with me in pieces.

The marks came through and they were very good, infact excellent.
He was awarded a distinction, yes a distinction!!!.

The assessor went onto enquire about his breeding because he felt that the dog was going to go far with such immense pure ability; he sends his highest regards onto the breeder and recommends i seek professional guidance to ensure the dog achieves what he is definitely capable off.

We all know off his problems but the assessor feels that that is his hidden raw talent that needs controlling to the full and when it is under control the dog will not go far wrong at any level.

You can imagine i cannot thank you and Paul enough for giving me a young dog that, yes has me on the edge at times, but to counter balance that are days like today when he his such a joy to work with.

A Massive. Massive thank you for everything you have done at your kennels to enable me to have a dog like Dylan.

BASIL IS BACK!!!

Hi, Sally

Just a short note to keep you informed of Basil's (Andsal Lancelot) progress.
Spring Pointing tests have been a little disappointing this year, in three tests I have made mistakes and cost Basil the chance of a grading, despite his best efforts!
However, on Saturday 25th April at the Leicestershire Gundog Society, Basil excelled himself, gaining 1st place in the Open Class Working Test. His retrieving on the day was fantastic, he only dropped three points in the retrieving tests and the judge described his work as outstanding and a pleasure to watch. He is maturing into a wonderful dog, doing everything I ask of him (most of the time!). He loves to please and gives 100%. Can I ask for more?
Thanks again for a wonderful dog, we'll keep you informed of his progress,

Hi Sally, Just thought you may want to hear this one:

Dylan got placed 1st in today's open show at the Heywood & Radcliffe Canine Society, 4.1.09) held in St Helens and although it wasn't a 'gundog' event I'm sure you will agree he did well!!

Yet again he wasn't too steady during the judge examination but the gait and overall appearance did it for him above the rest (judge comments)

Hi Sally / Paul,
Just thought you might like to know.......

Dylan and Dobbi have today / this morning just passed the 'gundog level' one course......

When I say pass what i really mean is that Dylan scored 85 out of 100 and got a MERIT!!!!!
Dobbi got 81 out of 100 and also received a MERIT!!!!!!!

They were both fantastic and the assessors comments were as follows

Dylan:
Such a wonderful mover, with a lovely gait, one of the best heads on a GSP she as seen and a natural hunting ability

Dobbi:
It is a rare treat to award a dog 20 out of 20 for his hunting skills, a wonderful dog to watch him doing something that he obviously enjoys to the full.

Off course we pointed out to her where they came from and gave her the website details for her reference.
She as taken photo's of both and asked if she could add them to her website; off course we agreed to let her.

Sally many thanks for giving us two wonderful dogs that as i have said many times before are a real credit to you.

See you soon

Mark / Denise

Hi Sally,  We thought that you would like to hear about how brave our boy has been. Today he gave his first unit of blood for the charity pbb (pet blood bank) His one unit could help save the lives of up to four smaller dogs. We are so proud of him. He enjoyed all the fuss and the treats at the end! They all said he behaved like a veteran, you'd never have guessed it was his first time. Hope all is well. Take care Love Gemma, Rob and Mr Brightside x

Hi, Sally

Just keeping you up to date with Basil's progress. He's completed two Working Tests at Open Level since moving on from Novice. In his first Test he was placed 6th at Madge Simons' Swifthouse Event in early May and last Saturday, 14th June, he was placed 3rd at the Norfolk & Suffolk HPR Field Trial Club event at Heveningham Hall. There are several more Working Tests in July, so hopefully Basil can continue with his success.
It's been a big leap from Novice to Open and considering that Basil completed just two Tests at Novice Level before moving on to Open, he has amazed me that he has taken everything in his stride. He is so keen and eager to please and gives me 100% in every test. I cannot ask for more!!

We'll be in touch soon,

Alan & Maureen

CONGRATULATIONS TO COLIN WOOSTER AND ANDSAL BEYOND CONTROL (MERLIN) WHO HAD A GREAT 4TH PLACE

IT IS GREAT PLEASURE THAT AGAIN ANDSAL LANCELOT IS HEADING THE RESULTS PAGE.  I AM EXTREMELY PROUD OF ALAN AND BASIL... (I MIGHT JUST BE A LITTLE BIT CHUFFED FOR BREEDING HIM, BUT THAT WAS THE EASY PART, ALAN IS DOING A WONDERFUL JOB OF TRAINING HIM).............JUST KEEP IT UP!!!

Hi, Sally

Basil got his first grading at a Spring Pointing Test today (April 20th) at the Hungarian Vizsla Society event at Humby. He ran really well in difficult conditions with few birds to be found and although his first run was a blank, he pointed and produced a brace of Partridge on his second run to gain an "Excellent" grading. Both judges were really impressed with him and, in their critique, praised him highly for his pace and ground coverage.
It's been a fantastic day today, Basil has done us, and himself, proud!!
Thanks again for such a terrific dog,

Alan & Maureen

Hi, Sally

It's been a long time since the last e-mails, but Basil (Andsal Lancelot) has been very busy.
Last year he entered 6 Gundog Working Tests at Puppy Level. He had a 1st, 2nd, 4th, two 5th's and a 6th place.
This year he has competed in two GWT's, both at Novice Level. Yesterday (23/03) he was placed 2nd at The GWPC event in Northampton and today (24/03 his birthday!!!) he was placed 1st at the GSPA at Stoke Bardolph, so now he moves up to the Open Class!! We're absolutely delighted with Basil, he is everything we wanted and more. He has several Spring Pointing Tests in the next month or so and he will be entered in Novice Field Trials this year. He's grown up to be a big, strong lad with a great character and he gets lots of admiring comments!
Will keep you posted with further progress and hopefully more successes!

Best Regards,

Alan & Maureen

ANDSAL QUENELLA AND ANDSAL QUESTA, OWNED AND LOVED BY JUDI AND COLIN FRANKLIN (PHOTOS OF BOTH OF THEM BELOW) THIS IS WHAT JUDI AND COLIN TOLD ME

Hi Sally,

Guess what; Andsal Questa and Andsal Quenella have both excelled themselves at the field trial at Lilliesleaf near Selkirk today. Cuba [Questa] got a second, and I am so proud, and Blue [Quenella] got a certificate of merit, I am doubly proud!!! This is only their 2nd field trial so I am really over the moon with them. GSPs need so much calm assertive training [ as Ceser Milan would say ] and Colin is the one to do it! He has watched them and trained them and developed them both so now we see what good breeding and good training can do; hears to the future......

They are both great dogs and we call them the Pointer Sisters. Thank you for having the faith in us to train 2 great girls from the same litter to work brilliantly in the field and in tests and trials.

We will keep you informed of their progress.

Hope you are ok and your new kennels are just what you wanted. Everyone asks what the Pointer Sister's heritage is and we are more than willing to tell them.

Keep well,

Judi

ALSO

Just a quick note to let you know how the 'pups' are getting on... I think I mentioned Cuba was entered into her first Pointing Test at Drummochter in April. She did very well for such a young dog and only just missed out being graded.
June 3rd at Culbin Forest saw the Scottish inter-branch working test into which we entered Cuba and Blue in both puppy and open class.
Again both did extremely well. in a field of about 25 dogs... Blue got a Second and Cuba a Third place in the puppy class. the big surprise was Cuba getting a third place in the Open class !!   I am really looking forward to this season when I can shoot over them both. Roll on August !!!!.
